Sunday evening, September 13th, we sat front row at Philadelphia designer Jovan O’Connor’s premiere New York Fashion Week (NYFW) runway show. Of course, it was only fitting that Jovan, an alumna of Macy’s Philadelphia Fashion Incubator, showed her SS15 collection the same week as the Nineteenth Amendment x Macy’s Partnership announcement. Watch the full runway show via Periscope below.
Punto Space in Manhattan’s Garment District was the perfect blank canvas for Jovan’s colorful collection. With white gallery walls, this venue reminded us that going to a runway show is going to see the work of an artist.
Designer Jovan O’Connor walking the runway with her model in the finale. The finale dress, a flowing chartreuse maxi dress with a plunging neckline, fluttered down the runway in tune to a remix of “The Girl from Ipanema”.
The first look of the night, a printed A line mini dress stole the show for its versatility and interesting color and print combination.
